Post Mother's Day Run

flutter, flitter, flyby
ladybug fanfare!

I went for a long run yesterday - 12 miles. I didn't really intend to run that far, but I kind of got lost. Even though I ran quite slowly (I averaged 12 min miles - boo!), the great news is that my hamstring held up well. :)

While I was running, the ladybugs were out in full force. I was worried for a while that I might accidentally eat one. Next time I go for a run, I'll take a bandanna and use it to cover my mouth.

Ladybugs in the mouth - oooh, what an awful thought. You'll know they were "chastising" if you do actually swallow one.

12 min miles is not at all slow in my book (Before you ask me... Yes I have an unnamed unwritten book :D). Even my thoughts run slower than that (They stop in between to pay due grattitude to Catherine Zeta Jones and Alessandra Ambrosio. Tee Hee)

Am glad your hamstring held up well. :)

Wonder what ladybugs would taste like... they must be cruchy! Do tell if you happen to eat one... just in case. :-D :-D

maybe you could try running in the same direction as the ladybugs are flying... if they are indeed flying in one particular direction and not just pelting you from every which way...

you can spit em out, but stepping on em won't bring em back :(

I believe the correct terminology is "Lady Bird" Beetle. I know, it doesn't sound as good and still tastes the same.

You all are funnyyyyy! :)

@karen - if I actually did eat one, how will i know if it is chastising me? (although...i don't speak ladybug..."lady bird" I wouldn't know either way...)

@ani - i'll let you know when I eat one...:)

@lgl - good idea! I might look a liitle funny, though, because those beetles don't really fly in a straight line...

@laughingwolf - see previous post - can't always spit out those buggers...!

@JR - thanks for the info ;) "Lady bird" beetle sounds dignified!

Ew! What a horrible feeling, and the taste would be awful because they give a not so nice smell, I can only imagine!
